Affordable, Dignified Cremation in Murray

Murray grew up around the smelting works that once ran along the valley floor, and it has spent the century since becoming one of the most comfortable places to live in Salt Lake County. Traces of that history are still visible: the historic storefronts along State Street, the Murray Theater marquee, the shape of the old industrial district now filled in with parks and neighborhoods.

Murray Park remains the heart of it. Generations of Murray families have held reunions under those trees, walked the creek in the summer, and come back for the concerts at the amphitheater. It is a city with its own school district, its own power utility, and a strong sense of itself.

Summit Cremation serves Murray families with honest pricing and a process you can complete without leaving home. We respond throughout the city, from the historic neighborhoods along State Street to the areas near Murray Park, Vine Street, and Fashion Place.

Serving Murray

We transport from anywhere in Murray, including Intermountain Medical Center, assisted living and skilled nursing facilities, and private homes. There is no distance surcharge anywhere in the city. If your loved one passed at a hospital or care facility, staff can contact us directly on your behalf and we will coordinate the release with them.

If a Death Occurs at Home

If your loved one was receiving hospice care, call the hospice agency first. A hospice nurse will come to the home, handle the pronouncement, and coordinate the release with us directly.

If the death was unexpected, or your loved one was not under hospice care, call 911 or your local police department. An officer and medical personnel will respond, and once the death has been pronounced and released we take it from there.

Either way, you are welcome to call us at any point, before or after, and we will walk you through exactly what happens next.

Why Murray Families Choose Direct Cremation

In the days right after a death, families are often asked to make a dozen expensive decisions before they have absorbed what happened. Direct cremation lets you slow that down. One decision, one price, and everything else can wait until you are ready.

When you are ready, the memorial can happen wherever it belongs: a ward house, a church, a pavilion at Murray Park, a family home. Weeks later, if that is what it takes to get everyone in the same place.
