Affordable, Dignified Cremation in Sandy
Sandy sits where the valley meets the mountains, and families here have a long habit of doing things their own way. That extends to how they say goodbye. More Sandy families each year are choosing cremation over a traditional funeral, not to spend less for its own sake, but because it gives them room to plan something that actually fits the person they lost.
Summit Cremation serves families throughout Sandy, from Historic Sandy and the neighborhoods below Little Cottonwood Canyon to Hidden Valley, White City, and the areas around Dimple Dell.

If a Death Occurs at Home
If your loved one was receiving hospice care, call the hospice agency first. A hospice nurse will come to the home, handle the pronouncement, and coordinate the release with us directly.
If the death was unexpected, or your loved one was not under hospice care, call 911 or your local police department. An officer and medical personnel will respond, and once the death has been pronounced and released we take it from there.
Either way, you are welcome to call us at any point, before or after, and we will walk you through exactly what happens next.
Why Sandy Families Choose Direct Cremation
Many Sandy families want a memorial that reflects a life spent outdoors. Direct cremation makes that possible in a way a traditional funeral schedule does not. Families gather at a trailhead, at a favorite spot in the canyon, at a backyard barbecue in July for someone who died in February.
It also spares you from making expensive decisions in a hurry. The cremation is handled; the memorial can wait until you are ready.
